The devotion to the Madonna della Pescheria dates back to the first half of the 17th century.
It is interesting to note how the permission to build the first wooden oratory was granted by the mayor of Caorle. It was in fact an ancient custom, which became law and remained in force until a few years ago, that the fish trade in Portogruaro took place in the fish market by fishermen from Carole. As a note posted on the door of the small oratory informs, the same, which dates back to 1627, was defaced and stripped in 1917, at the time of the Austrian invasion. It was restored and embellished in 1920 by Giuseppe Bittolo Bon. The wooden Christ lying under the altar, and which is exposed to the veneration of the faithful on Good Friday, was offered by Mrs. Antonietta Gaule Pasqualini.
On August 15th, the only day of the year, the Holy Mass is celebrated in honor of the Madonna. For a few years, a nice event has been held at the Pescheria on the evening of August 15th, organized by the Pro Loco. After the recitation of the Rosary, some typical boats arrive from Carole (caorline) and Concordia (batee), led by sailors in characteristic costume with lit torches who bring fruits of the land and the sea as gifts, re-establishing those relationships between Portogruaro and Carole which they have remained alive for many centuries.

</details>
<details>

Portovecchio

Saint Roch

Along the "low road" of Portovecchio, on the right of the Lemene, not far from the powder magazine, you come across the tabernacle which on the front clearly bears the name of the Saint to whom it is dedicated: San Rocco.
It seems to have been erected after 1631 in memory of the grace obtained due to the cessation of the plague.
It is thought that this was the tabernacle that was frescoed with a Saint Rocco by the Portogruarese painter Sante Conti (1845-1904), but no trace remains of it. It is worth noting that bricks from the Roman era were also reused in the construction of the building.
The dating, which is very uncertain, dates the church back to the 16th century, although the construction is almost certainly the remodeling of a pre-existing sacred building. The beautiful altarpiece, which represents the Madonna between Sant'Urbano and Santa Barbara, is the work of the painter Cataldo Ferrari and dated by the author himself to 1646.
Finally, a curiosity: contrary to the ancient rigid custom of having the altar facing east, the apse of the church faces west.
Saint Elizabeth, wife of Saint Zaccaria, conceived John the Baptist at an advanced age; in the sixth month of pregnancy she received a visit from Mary and at her greeting "... her baby leaped in her womb..." (Lk 1,41). The building probably dates back to the 17th century and documents attest that it was built at the behest of the Gruarese community. A historical-architectural analysis of the church is very difficult, as it was heavily damaged during the First World War and rebuilt subsequently.
However, it is important to note that devotion to San Michele was very widespread in the Lombard era. Another very popular saint is also venerated in the church, Sant'Antonio Abate, protector of animals and invoked against the "fire" of the same name; this is attested by a beautiful fresco portraying him, dating back to 1616.
Saint Michael mentioned in the canonical texts, at the head of the celestial hosts, is depicted as a warrior with sword in hand who defeats the dragon.
